Workflow Assignments
Feature Overview:
Introducing the new “Assign User/Crew to a Workflow” feature, designed to streamline the assignment process within your workflow management system. This feature allows managers to assign an individual user or an entire crew to a workflow, which in turn automatically assigns them to any package associated with that workflow. This eliminates the repetitive task of assigning users or crews each time a package is uploaded or approved.
Customer Problem Addressed: Previously, managers had to manually assign users or crews to each package, especially when they wanted to restrict access to specific trade packages (e.g., piping trade/crew). This was a time-consuming process that required constant attention and management.
KEY BENEFITS:
- Efficiency: Significantly reduces the time and effort required for managers to assign users or crews to packages.
- Centralized Database: Facilitates a single database for multi-trade and multi-shop workflows, ensuring seamless access and management.
- Automation: Automatically assigns users or crews to new packages within a workflow, eliminating the need for manual intervention.
- Enhanced Control: Allows managers to control access to specific trade packages without repetitive assignments.
By automating the assignment process, this feature saves valuable time for managers, allowing them to focus on more critical tasks. It ensures that the right users or crews have access to the appropriate packages without the need for constant oversight. This streamlined process enhances overall productivity and operational efficiency.
Updated Weld Log
Feature Overview:
The Joint Log, commonly referred to as the weld log, is an invaluable feature within MSUITE that ensures transparency and traceability for fabricators. It meticulously records detailed data, including dates, welder information, heat numbers, and more, as work items advance through different stages. This dynamically generated log is accessible at both the job and package levels, providing comprehensive oversight and control.
KEY BENEFITS FOR FABRICATORS:
- Transparency and Traceability: The Joint Log offers a comprehensive history of work performed, which is crucial for client and stakeholder transparency.
- Automated Data Capture: Important data like weld dates, welder IDs, and heat numbers are automatically captured and populated, reducing manual entry and errors.
- Quality Assurance: The log includes QA/QC steps, inspection types, and acceptance/rejection statuses, ensuring quality control throughout the fabrication process.
- Customizable Stages: Fabricators can define and name workflow stages, ensuring that relevant data is captured at each step.
- Dynamic Updates: The log is updated in real-time as work progresses, providing up-to-date information.
Components of the Joint Log:
- Weld #: Tag number of the weld or item.
- Stage: Workflow stage name.
- Weld Date: Date the weld was performed.
- Weld Type: Joining procedure type.
- Welder I.D. and Initials: Identifies the welder.
- Filler Metal: Type of filler metal used.
- Component 1 & 2: Items being joined.
- Heat Number 1 & 2: Heat numbers of the items.
- QCR: QA/QC status.
- Insp. Type: Inspection type.
- Intl: Initials of the QA/QC person.
- Date: Date of QA/QC completion.
- A/R: Accept or Reject status.
- Comments: Notes on rejections.
How to Populate Data:
- Heat Numbers: Add heat numbers at any stage, ideally during material receiving.
- Component 1 & 2: Assign components and heat numbers at the weld stage to ensure they populate in the Joint Log.
By using the Joint Log, fabricators can ensure a detailed, accurate, and transparent record of their work, enhancing both internal processes and client satisfaction.
